Senior Configuration & Change Management Specialist
We are looking for an experienced Configuration Manager to join a forward-thinking engineering organization that is driving the transformation toward software-defined products and digital innovation.
The organization is focused on enabling efficient software development through modern engineering practices, streamlined workflows, and advanced automation. The team works to ensure high-quality, continuously releasable software while supporting developers with robust tools, processes, and infrastructure.
As part of a central Software Engineering function, you will contribute to establishing seamless software and data flows across the development landscape, helping engineering teams deliver reliable and traceable software solutions at scale.
About the Team
The team works with Configuration Management strategies and processes that impact a large engineering organization. In addition to governance and process development, the team develops solutions that automate Configuration Management activities and improve traceability throughout the software development lifecycle.
One example of ongoing work is enabling automated software traceability from complete baseline level down to individual software components.

Configuration Management for software development and software baselines

Software branching strategies and governance across multiple engineering teams

Software traceability strategies and implementation
-
Change management processes
-
Compliance documentation and supporting applications

Documentation structures and information management
-
Supporting engineering teams in Configuration Management-related matters
What You Will Do
As a Configuration Manager, you will contribute to several key initiatives, including:

Leading Configuration Management activities in a large-scale engineering environment
-
Developing and implementing Configuration Management processes and methodologies
-
Driving automation initiatives within the Configuration Management domain, including AI-enabled solutions
-
Supporting and collaborating with engineering teams on Configuration Management best practices
-
Improving traceability, governance, and software lifecycle management processes

Proven experience within the Configuration Management domain

Experience managing software traceability in large and complex projects

Experience with version management processes and tools such as Git (Gerrit experience is highly valued)

Experience with Change Management processes

Experience translating business needs into operational and system requirements

Experience working with automation initiatives

Knowledge of requirements management processes
-
Understanding of technical documentation standards and governance
-
Experience defining requirements for IT systems within a PLM environment

Experience developing branching strategies for large-scale projects
-
Ability to understand and work within new technical domains

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly

Strong quality assurance mindset
Preferred Qualifications

Experience from the automotive industry or other complex product development environments

Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems and product structures

Knowledge of software release management and product configuration

Experience working with engineering process improvements

Understanding of how process and tool changes impact engineering teams

Experience managing large volumes of information and coordinating multiple stakeholders

Previous experience from large-scale global engineering organizations
