Senior Mechanical Engineer / Project Engineer

Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a background in heavy industry, industrial projects, and production development? We are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer who wants to take part in driving technically complex projects from concept to completed installation.

About the Role

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will work with capital investments, project management, and technical development in industrial environments. The role covers everything from feasibility studies, budgeting, and engineering design to installation, commissioning, and follow-up. You will collaborate closely with production teams, maintenance personnel, contractors, and external suppliers to ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable long-term solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute investment and improvement projects within industrial production environments.
• Be responsible for planning, budgeting, and follow-up of technical projects.
• Manage and coordinate installations and modifications of mechanical systems and equipment.
• Review technical documentation, engineering drawings, P&IDs, isometric drawings, and installation packages.
• Coordinate contractors and ensure work is carried out in accordance with applicable requirements, regulations, and standards.
• Identify and implement improvement initiatives to increase reliability, availability, and productivity.
• Participate in maintenance and reliability activities for critical production facilities.
• Provide technical expertise to support troubleshooting and problem-solving activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Several years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Project Engineer, or in a similar role.
• Experience from heavy industry, steel manufacturing, process industries, energy sector, or large-scale industrial projects.
• Strong experience in mechanical installations, maintenance, and project execution.
• Experience with capital investments, plant modifications, and modernization projects.
• Ability to work independently and drive projects throughout their entire lifecycle.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with furnace systems, hydraulic systems, water treatment plants, or high-current electrical installations.
• International project experience.
• Experience from EPC, oil & gas, or infrastructure projects.
• CAD and engineering design background.
