Company Description

Hej Digital Product Area Architect – Supply Chain Planning Development Area,

Do you want to continue creating a better life at home – and for yourself?

With us, you can feel at home in your work while continuing to grow and develop within IKEA. We encourage you to stand up for yourself and others, explore new perspectives, and learn from both successes and mistakes. We invite you to open new doors, build on your experience, and challenge yourself in new ways.

Job Description

As a Digital Product Area Architect you are employed as a Solution Architect with a work assignment for the Supply Chain Planning Development Digital Product Area, you play a key role in shaping, maintaining and evolving the architectural direction for the Supply Chain Planning Development Digital Product Area, contributing to the overall Architecture Vision and Capability‑based Architecture Roadmap.

You are accountable for the Architecture Blueprints across Process, People, Data and Technology within Supply Chain Planning Development Area, ensuring that architectural direction supports the product area’s value proposition and enables IKEA to reach its business objectives in a simple, cost‑efficient and future‑proof way.

Through close collaboration with the Supply Chain Planning Development Digital Product Area leadership, the Capability Area Architect, and product, platform and engineering teams, you ensure architecture is both strategic and executable. You balance long‑term architectural intent with day‑to‑day delivery needs, navigating trade‑offs, dependencies and ambiguity in an agile, product‑oriented context.

In this role, you lead through influence rather than formal authority. There is no predefined playbook; success depends on your ability to take ownership, make informed decisions, and move work forward even when not all answers are available.

You report to the Competence Hub Development Manager, and work in close collaboration with the Capability Area Architect, Enterprise Architects and architecture peers across IKEA.

On a typical day, you will:

  • Give architectural input to the Supply Chain Planning Development Digital Product Area value proposition, based on business needs, IKEA strategies and technology trends, leveraging your solid understanding of Supply Chain Planning processes and value drivers
  • Define, maintain and continuously evolve Architecture Blueprints for Supply Chain Planning Development across Process, People, Data and Technology
  • Translate architectural vision into planning input and an architecture runway, supporting integrated planning for the Supply Chain Planning Development product area
  • Identify and manage dependencies between architecture, product roadmaps, platforms and other digital product areas
  • Support execution of the roadmap by guiding architectural design decisions and resolving architectural dilemmas, ensuring a clear focus on business value also in technical discussions and trade-off decisions
  • Act as an architecture sparring partner to product, platform, solution and enterprise architects within Supply Chain Planning Development Area, confidently navigating and bridging both business and technology perspectives
  • Be a wing‑person on architectural and technical topics for the Digital Product Area leadership
  • Drive local architectural decision‑making and act as guardian of the Supply Chain Planning Development Area Architecture Blueprints in relevant forums
  • Ensure the application and architecture landscape for Supply Chain Planning Development Area is documented in the common repository according to overall guidelines
  • Contribute to alignment across digital product areas to ensure a holistic and coherent IKEA architecture

Qualifications

What we’d like you to bring

  • Solid experience in enterprise architecture or architect in complex digital landscapes
  • Strong skills in architecture roadmaps, dependency management and capability‑based planning
  • Ability to connect business strategy, product goals and technology architecture
  • Experience working in agile, product‑driven organisations
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence without formal authority
  • Comfort working in a matrix organisation with multiple stakeholders and perspectives
  • Curiosity, pragmatism and a strong drive for continuous improvement
  • Ability to speak both business and technology languages, ensuring a clear focus on business value also in technical dialogues and decision-making
  • Solid Supply Chain Planning knowledge and experience, with a strong understanding of planning processes, challenges and value drivers in a complex, global environment
